Nell took us to Port Meadow today. Port Meadow is an ancient grazing area legendarily given to the freemen of Oxford by the king over 1000 years ago. To this day it is still used for horses and cattle and has never been ploughed, at least for around 4,000 years. After a very long walk we went to The Perch, had some lunch, then relaxed by the fire and read for a few hours.

Our Nell, eight weeks old.

First day with us, first photo. One ear up, one still floppy (it should also be up within a few days). She travelled all the way from Wales to Oxford today, but has been an absolute angel and is settling in amazingly well.

We’re unbelievably happy to have her in our lives.
