Nell with buddies Hermes (tri-colour pembroke corgi from the US, looking at camera) and Alistair (Cardigan corgi who lives just up the street, looking at Hermes) in the Thames at Port Meadow, Oxford. Nell now has 4 corgi friends in Oxford, which is really so great! All had a great time chasing sticks from the water.

Nell’s mom Floss and sister Belle came all the way from the coast of Wales to spend a couple of days with us. Today was very foggy and it was hard to see around Port Meadow, but they had a wonderful time racing and playing together. Best Day Ever.

Nell took us to Port Meadow today. Port Meadow is an ancient grazing area legendarily given to the freemen of Oxford by the king over 1000 years ago. To this day it is still used for horses and cattle and has never been ploughed, at least for around 4,000 years. After a very long walk we went to The Perch, had some lunch, then relaxed by the fire and read for a few hours.
